Summer Reading Volunteers Needed!

April 24th, 2012

This summer, Building Hope In The City will offer two 2-week Summer Reading Programs for students in grades 1-5. The goals are to advance literacy and academic performance by engaging children in reading and related activities over the summer, and to engage parents and family members, too.

We’re seeking volunteers to read and interact with children each day of the program. We’ll provide the books, goals and activities; you provide the enthusiam and fun! Volunteers can sign up for one week (Monday-Friday) or two weeks.  High school and college students are especially welcome!

The Community House at the FMC Video

Check out this video to see how God has been guiding every step from the prayers for the Blessed Sacrament campus to be repurposed for ministry to the renovations and the many volunteers who made it possible to the opening of the Community House doors to short term missions teams, interns and those seeking to live in Christian community. Here we see InterVarsity students enjoying food in the Community House kitchen during our very first short term mission team hosting.

Praise God for He is good!
